Game Review
After a pretty even first half, the Pies would comfortably defeat the Blues at Princes Park with a 5 goal last quarter.Collingwood inflicted their third defeat in a row on Carlton at Princes Park and it was the first time they've done this since 1970. But early in the game, the Blues were well on top. However when the Magpies were fired into attack by some lively play up forward from former North star Sam Kekovich, they had far too many strengths for the home side. The Blues 11.8 was their lowest against Collingwood at home since 1972. - Football Record.
More than 38,000 people crammed into Princes Park to see Collingwood defeat Carlton for the first time since 1970. Ron Wearmouth did well for the Magpies while Alex Jesaulenko, who scored four goals, was the Blues best. - Football Record.
