Game Review
Whilst the hoodoo was broken a year ago, this was a far more meritorious victory. The hoodoo breaking game was against an injury ravaged Essendon who were always going to win the flag that year. This game was a genuine contest between 2 premiership contenders.
A best on ground was the outcome of an outstanding game by Carlton utility Paul Meldrum. As a result of this, Meldrum has moved into second place on the Inside Football Player of the Year behind team-mate Craig Bradley. Meldrum provided a lot of drive for his Blues team-mates and was well supported by Wayne Johnston who was also in the votes. - Inside Football.
