Mark Pennings' records has a Fred W. or James Minetti playing for Carlton in 1896

1896 July 25
Carlton played Melbourne on the M.C.G.
Although not named in the initial 28 man team squad. Minetti was found in a starting Carlton 20 placed in the back pocket.

James known as Jack and Giacomo Francis Minetti
Giacomo is Italian/Sicilian for Jack.

The Blueseum was contacted by the family of Jack Minnetti to confirm family folklore of him playing for Carlton.

According to this obit from the Weekly Times (November 8th, 1950) Jack was a very good player of the game of Draughts.
