Game Review
Carlton Too Good For Geelong
Team work, high marking, and long kicking gained indisputable superiority for Carlton at Geelong. The first term was dead level (2.5), but thenceforward Carlton were never seriously threatened, being 8.7 to 5.7 at the interval, 12.12 to 7.9 at three-quarters, finally winning by 16.15 (111) to 11.10 (76).Summerised, Carlton were too tall, and Geelong missed Sharland terribly in the ruck. In ground-work, the losers did well in places. Prominent individuals for Carlton were Credlin (five goals), Hiskins, O'Brien, McLatchie.
(Trove-Referee September 06 p12)
At the end of this round Carlton were in 3rd spot on the ladder with a percentage of 109.2.
