Carlton lost to 6th placed Footscray in Round 7, in front of 13000 people at the Western Oval - the highest attendance for the round. We remained in third place, but fell a game behind leaders Melbourne and Richmond.At the end of this round Carlton were in 3rd spot on the ladder with a percentage of 105.2.

War Effort
It was announced during the week that the Carlton players had donated their provident fund and other amounts to the war loan.£1,026 had been handed over by players, committeemen and staff. The club also handed over a further £400 to the war effort.
The Blues are the first VFL club to make such a donation.
