Game Review

The Blues began season 1929 with a mammoth win over Essendon at home. A huge 73 point margin, off the back of a 13 goal to 3 second half, was a great way to not only begin the season, but to welcome 5 new faces to the senior team.

Carlton adapted better to the wet weather as it rained throughout the first half and intermittently during the final two quarters.
The Blues kicked to the Garton or Lygon Street end in the first term aided by the "rain-laden south westerly."

At the end of this round Carlton were in 1st spot on the ladder with a percentage of 225.9.
