Three Suspended, 2009

Shortly after the celebrations of our Round 21 win over Melbourne in 2009, a sobering announcement was made by the Carlton Football Club. Three Blues would be suspended for turning up late to a compulsory training session:

Eddie Betts, Cameron Cloke and Jeffery Garlett were all suspended for one match by the Club after all three were late to the compulsory recovery session last Sunday morning following Carlton's victory over Melbourne on Saturday.

"This is very disappointing for all concerned, particularly as we play such an important game against Adelaide on Saturday, the final game before we embark on our finals campaign. While all three players have apologised for their tardy behaviour this decision ensures that everyone understands the disciplines that are required when you are part of the Carlton Football Club,"
General Manager Football Operations, Steven Icke.

As a result, the Blues had to make 3 changes as a minimum going into the Round 22 fixture against Adelaide.
