Game Review

Bad kicking cost Carlton when they were defeated by one point in this ‘Night’ semi final and had 4 more scoring shots, but scored only 1 goal 7 behinds in the first half. Carlton scored 2 goals 4 behinds in the last quarter to 1 point, but ran out of time.

Sergio Silvagni was the leading goal-scorer with a total of 9 goals in two matches.

This was Ken Hands last game at coach of the Carlton Football Club. Over the summer, a new committee was swept to power and Ron Barassi was appointed captain-coach. In a few short years, he would lead the Navy Blues into a glorious new era.
