2003 National Draft

The Draft penalties imposed on Carlton in 2002 due to breaches of the Salary Cap would impact, but finish, on the 2003 National Draft.

The Blues would be entitled to a Priority Pick given our performances in 2003, which would nab Andrew Walker, but were not entitled to a First or Second round selection because of the penalties announced in 2002.

Our next selection - our third round pick - was traded to Collingwood for Heath Scotland, whilst our fourth round pick was traded to Hawthorn for Brett Johnson and Daniel Harford. A series of late picks were utilised by the Blues, delivering Ricky Mott, Stephen Kenna, Jordan Bannister, Adrian Deluca and Glen Bowyer to Carlton.
