Surprisingly the only Taylor to have ever played for Carlton despite the surname being in the Top 10 surnames in the White Pages, Charlie Taylor managed 3 games for the Blues after debuting in 1911.

Charlie Taylor was reported for striking former team mate Carlton's Ned Bowen in the Round 6, 1911 clash. He was found not guilty.

Taylor was born in Collingwood and played for Melbourne, Hawthorn Juniors and Caulfield prior to playing for the Blues.

Taylor moved around a bit whilst playing in the VFL. In 1906, he played 3 games and kicked a goal for Melbourne. In 1911, he played the first 3 games of the season with Carlton and then transferred mid-season to St Kilda. He played 1 and a bit years with the Saints and managed 7 games and kicked 1 goal for them.

Taylor passed away in 1960 aged 82.
