Crowd Records

The Blues are a popular team, and have had their hand in a number of crowd records at various grounds through the years:

MCG: The 1970 Grand Final crowd of 121,696 is a AFL attendance record that stands to this day. It therefore stands as the MCG attendance record.

Telstra Dome / Docklands: The Round 12 crowd of 2007 rose to 53,459 on the back of renewed interest in the resurgent Hawthorn Football Club and the emerging new Blues of 2007.

Princes Park: The 1945 Grand Final of 62,986 stands as the Princes Park attendance record.

Carlton doesn't just create records at our home grounds and in finals, with the following crowd records for 'Away' games standing to this day:

Punt Road: In Round 9, 1949 the Blues and Tigers fought it out in front of approx. 46,000 fans, a record for that ground.

Lake Oval: In Round 13, 1932 the Blues and Swans fought it out in front of approx. 41,000 fans, a record for that ground.

Junction Oval: In Round 5, 1950 the Blues and St Kilda fought it out in front of approx. 47,000 fans, a record for that ground.

Glenferrie: In Round 1, 1965 the Blues and Hawks fought it out in front of approx. 36,000 fans, a record for that ground.

Arden Street: In Round 19, 1949 Carlton and North Melbourne fought it out in front of approx. 35,000 fans, a record for that ground.

Kardinia Park: In Round 19, 1952 the Blues and Cats fought it out in front of 49,107 fans, a record for that ground.

And finally.....

Euroa: In Round 8, 1952 the Blues and Hawks fought it out in the township of Euroa front of approx. 7,500 fans, a record for an AFL/VFL game in that town. This is the only AFL / VFL game to have ever been played at the ground...so it's also the lowest crowd!
