The Carlton Football Club last night conferred life membership on Dr. Conrad Ley, the surgeon who last year saved the life of it's star forward, Keith Warburton.
Carlton vice president Mr. Horrie Clover told the club's annual meeting that the skilful operation had restored Warburton to health.
Dr. Ley replied: "I think Keith Warburton will be able to fly higher than ever, and may be able to kick a few goals."
Dr. Ley said Warburton had been a good patient, tended by a good hospital team at Prince Henry's and supported by a good club.
