1891 Carlton played a pre season match against a Combined Juniors team.
Amongst the junior players named in the Combine team was a G. Moriarty from the Britannia Club.

1891 May 02
Moriarty named in 24 man Carlton squad for season opener against St.Kilda.

1891 May 09
Moriarty played in the victory over Fitzroy at the Brunswick Street ground.

1891 June 27
Played against Essendon at the East Melbourne ground.

1891 September 19
Moriarty is mentioned in the report of the match against Geelong at Geelong.

1891 CFC Annual Report, G. Moriarty scored 1 goal for the season.

Geoff Moriarty could have played in most of the Blues games.
He was mentioned in 3 games and named in 18 team squads for the year.

1892 After one season Geoff Moriarty applied for a transfer and went to the Fitzroy F. C.
Five seasons with the 'Roys in the VFA would have been approx 90 games. With VFA/VFL combined, Geoff could have played around 200 games of senior football. As it turned out it was certainly a great loss for the Blues.
Geoff Moriarty went on to play 106 V.F.L. games for the 'Roys 1897 1899 - 1907
He became Fitzroy's first ever coach for the 1911 and 1912 seasons.

1910 The Advocate May 07 reported;
"Miss Mary Moriarty, sister of a well known footballer, has cycled from Melbourne to Sydney. The 572 miles was done in 11 days."

1922 Geoff's son Jack Moriarty played 170 games with Essendon (13) and Fitzroy (157) and kicked 662 goals from 1922 - 1933.

1924 September 26
G. Moriarty (Fitzroy) played in an old players match on the M.C.G. Geoff would have been nearly 53 years old.

.*1948 Geoff Moriarty of Clifton Hill passed away October 29 he would been aged 77.
Blueseum is not positive if this is the same person, but the death notice mentions a son Jack.
