Laurie Rogers played reserve grade football for Carlton in 1956 and 1957, in 1957 he took out the Reserves Best and Fairest Award. Upon his promotion to the senior list, he was described as a rugged full-back from the thirds.

Rogers played U/19's football for Carlton and in 1954 was awarded the Most Consistent Player award for the U/19's. This was a follow-up to his Special Award that was received in 1953 whilst playing with the Blues U/19's.

It was noted in the The Argus newspaper that he was doing military training leading up to the practices matches.

He didn't manage to play a senior game for Carlton.
