The Australasian October 03 (p22) 1885, in its football review said Breen of Carlton scored 18 goals. (This would have been against all teams)
1886 May 29
Breen played only one game for the year.
That was against South Melbourne and he was named among Carlton's best players.
1887 May 17
The Kyneton Observer (p2) mentions; "... Breen, the famous Carlton goal-kicker of the season before last, who was playing in his old position of goal-sneak."
He was playing for Keilor in a match against Kyneton.

There is a Michael Joseph Breen who died 03 August 1933 age 70 buried in the Sunbury Cemetery
Same person as the Carlton footballer?
Also at Sunbury Cemetery is Margaret Ann Breen (nee Cahill) died the 31 August 1953 aged 89. Church service held in Heidelberg and burial in Sunbury.

BREEN - Friends of the late Mr. MICHAEL JOSEPH BREEN are respectfully invited to follow his remains to the place of interment, the Sunbury Cemetery. The funeral will move from St. Mary's Catholic Church, High-street, Thornbury, THIS DAY (Friday), 4th inst. at 2pm arriving at the Sunbury Cemetery at 3.30pm via Bulla.
