Game Review
Carlton kicked the first 2 goals of the game through Lance Whitnall and Brendan Fevola but then allowed the Lions back in by conceding 2 goals from 50 m penalties. The Lions slowly took control of the match and after being up by 8 points at quarter time kicked 3 unanswered goals. The Blues fought back with 3 from Whitnall to stay in touch but the Lions responded with another 3 to be 20 points up at half time. The Lions took complete control in the second half, restricting the Blues to 2 goals in each of the remaining quarters, while adding 10 themselves to run out 58 point winners.Anthony Koutoufides had 28 possessions, while Matthew Lappin had 27. Lance Whitnall kicked 4 goals. Andrew Walker was given the job of tagging Akermanis and did a good job of minimising his influence.
