Game Review
Carlton won in the ruck and had matchwinners in Gilchrist, Chick, Beasy and Kerr who drove the ball into attack time and again. The Saint's defence, and poor kicking for goal cost the Blues the chance to secure a much needed victory over St.Kilda.Carlton coach Jim Francis
"I thought Carlton fought out a hard game well. Our men finished on a lot better, but couldn't seal the game. A reshuffle at half time when Nicholls came back to the centre. James dropped back to full back and Gilchrist returned to a wing, paid dividends. Although we now now lag by two points behind Footscray, I think we have an excellent chance of fighting our way into the four."Best; Beasy, Gilchrist, Chick, James, Nicholls, Milroy.
