Game Review

The Blues would win by 10 goals, but Melbourne would have only themselves to blame through horribly inaccurate kicking. Good result all round, I'd say.

Carlton showed a great return to form when they made better use of the windy conditions to score their first double century in the one season against Melbourne since 1970. Melbourne suffered their third defeat this season at VFL Park and have now the poorest record of any side at the ground, equalling their 1970. 73-74 record of having lost all in a season at League headquarters. It was Carlton's most accurate effort in any game since Round 14 last year and their best margin against Melbourne since 1968. Meanwhile Melbourne's score of 6.22 was their most inaccurate ever against the Blues. - Football Record.

Carlton made a great return to form when it defeated Melbourne by 57 points. The Demons inaccuracy let them down as they kicked 6.22 to 18.7. - Football Record.
