Game Review

This match at Princes Park between eighth-placed Carlton and wooden spoon favourites North Melbourne featured the two leading VFL goal-kickers; Tom Carroll of Carlton (42 goals) and the Shinboners' John Dugdale (36). Those fans who went along to see a shoot-out were disappointed - but at least they saw an exciting finish, as the Blues recovered from eleven points down at the last change to edge out the Northerners by a bare 2 points.

Dugdale kicked 4 majors, and Carroll got three; however, both were overshadowed by Geelong's Doug Wade, who returned from injury to notch seven as the Cats went down by two points to Melbourne at the MCG.
