Game Review
A game that was fairly close going into the third quarter turned a bit ugly when Carlton tagger Anthony Franchina targeted Brent Harvey's sore shoulder for some 'special' treatment. This fired up the Kangaroos who slammed home 6 goals in 10 minutes to create an enormous buffer. Early in the last quarter North were 51 points in front. Carlton then steamed home and got to within 20 points with 5 minutes left on the clock. North Melbourne played it safe and slowed the game right down, holding possession without trying too hard to go forward. This tactic worked for the Kangaroos as Carlton were unable to gain enough of the footy to kick any more goals. Best for the Blues was Corey McKernan with 4 goals and 8 marks. Scott Camporeale had 29 possessions and Justin Murphy had 27 and kicked 2 goals.Team
