Game Review

Carlton was the better team on the day but broke down on the forward line. Had the final bell not been rung when the Blues were heading for goal, Carlton would have won.

At the end of this round Carlton were in 2nd spot on the ladder with a percentage of 119.9.

Footnote

Carlton would play Collingwood again in two days (Monday 05, King's Birthday) in Ballarat on the Eastern Oval, to raise funds for the Ballarat East Red Cross Fund.
Both teams arrived on the midday train.
It was a poor standard match with both teams fumbling, and spilling marks.
The match was drawn 8.10.58 each. Hawker of Carlton kicked a goal after the bell rang to draw the game.
Valentine did not play.
