Game Review

Maurie Johnson begins a fine career with the Blues which would span 10 years, in this time he would represent the Blues in 109 games and kick 70 goals. He would also spend another two years at South Melbourne where he played 19 games for 27 goals.

The ground was in good condition despite the recent heavy rain. The visitors played well but constantly broke down in attack. Carlton dominated in the air and the back line led by Duncan was on top. The Blues' team work was poor, and they would have to improve in this department if they are to continue winning.
