Game ReviewThe Blues kicked their first 13 goals straight, until spoiling their perfect record with a number of behinds in the second half of the third term.
The Blues straight shooting gave many on-lookers the feeling the Bombers were a strong chance of reversing the result in later matches. Essendon's inability to convert opportunities in important matches however was to prove chronic.
Collingwood's defeat at the hands of Melbourne meant Carlton were atop the ladder 16 points and a percentage of 142.1 after this match.
