Game Review
"The Carlton-St.' Kilda battle was interesting, but Carlton came with overpowering rushes in the last quarter, and gained the clay with 40 points to the good, St. Kilda were inclined to overdo the handballing.Challis, the ex-Tasmanian, played his best game for the Dark Blues last week, handling the wet ball with wonderful certainty. Gardiner, Marchbank, Bowen and A. McDonald were about the best of the others. Bill Johnson, in the first half especially, was Carlton's most reliable defender. Dick, in the last two quarters, was very fine."
At the end of this round Carlton were in 5th spot on the ladder with a percentage of 131.4.
