Neil Robertson played reserve grade football for Carlton from 1980 to 1981, he managed to average just over a goal a game for the Blues.
Robertson was recruited from Dunolly. Robertson won the senior's competition best and fairest Maryborough Castlemaine District Football League (MCDFL) in 1977 whilst playing for Dunolly.
After departing ways with Carlton Neil Robertson head west where he played one season in the WAFL with Claremont. The following year Robertson headed to the VFA to play with the Brunswick FC for 1983 season who already had quite a few ex Carlton thirds and reserves footballers running around at the club. Robertson was also a very good local cricketer and his career in this sport extended well after he decided to hang up his footy boots.
He didn't play a senior game for Carlton.
