Game Review

This game was remarkable for the exploits of Footscray full-forward Jack Collins, who kicked nine goals in the first half - six in the first quarter, and three in the second.
Carlton rallied after half-time, and injuries saw Collins called into the ruck, where thankfully, he didn't get any more opportunities to add to his score.

"Keith Warburton bought a roar with a marvelous mark in the first quarter at Carlton when Ted Whitten practically had the ball in his fingertips. He made a late leap with his left arm stretched out, and the ball ran down his arm to be clutched on his chest as he landed."
