Game Review

Carlton's win over the Southerners in round 1 (our only VFL victory thus far against anyone other than St Kilda) had given the Blues real confidence. But this time around, South were bent on revenge.

The Bloods held Carlton goalless for three quarters, in a low-scoring tussle that eventually went their way by a comfortable five goals. Carlton's only major for the match came in the last term, when key forward Chic Breese's neat place kick split the uprights - and saved the Blues from humiliation for a second time in four weeks.

At the end of this round Carlton were in 7th spot on the ladder with a percentage of 63.7.
