David Routledge played U/19's football for Carlton from 1969 to 1970, he also played reserve grade football from 1970 to 1971.
Routledge would transfer to VFA club Camberwell, he played in the losing 1975 2nd Division Grand Final vs Brunswick. In the Recorder (VFA's weekly football record), in his player profile it noted that he had given excellent service at full-back in his three seasons at the club. At that stage he had played 29 games.
Routledge was recruited from Lilydale.
He did not manage a Senior game for Carlton.
