Probably Joseph Crowley who refused to play for Richmond on August 20 1892 unless a team mate was reinstated by the club.

1893 May 20
The VFA Permit Committee granted Crowley a transfer from Richmond to Carlton.

"Crowley, of the clan Crowley, of South Yarra, Prahran, and Windsor has been granted permission to migrate from Richmond to Carlton." (Sportsman May 23 p6)

1893 June 17
Crowley is named in the 26 man Carlton squad to play Williamstown at Williamstown.
This is the first time Crowley's named appears in a Carlton squad.
The Blues won 3.1 - 2.2
Crowley made his debut in this match, however, The Australasian's match report (June 24 p19) of him, was not too flattering.
Crowley's name does not reappear in Carlton squads this year.
