Game Review
Richmond had won 7 of their last 8 games to move into 4th position and here were confronted with the "litmus test". The ladder-leaders with just one loss in 12 rounds, and at Princes Park.Shocking conditions suggested a low-scoring encounter, where any lead would be a good one. The Tigers were cock-a-hoop when they entered half-time with a 21 point advantage.
When Richmond extended the lead to 33 points half way through the third Carlton fans resigned themselves to a third loss of the year. However the Blues suddenly found form and added 3-3 to nothing in the last minutes of quarter 3 before swamping Richmond with a 3-3 to 1 point last term.
The Blues seemed to have the answers to any questions thrown at them and were now clear favourites to take out the 1947 premiership.
