Carlton ended the home & away rounds on a high with a 39 point pummelling of the bottom placed Richmond. The Blues would finish the year in second spot, just 4 points off the Pies in top spot.Carlton would play Fitzroy in the Semi Final, 1917, whilst Collingwood would take on 3rd placed South Melbourne in the other Semi.
