Game Review
A forgettable game played under typical Waverley Park weather of pouring rain & freezing conditions. The writer remembers this game, because he missed both of Melbourne's two goals. For the first he'd snuck out to buy a bucket of chips, and for the second he was in the toilet!!!
In muddy conditions at VFL Park, Carlton rover Vin Catoggio was the star, in the Blues huge victory against Melbourne. Catoggio bore in hard for the ball and more often than not came out with it and sent the Blues into attack. Catoggio was well supported by tough on-baller Greg Towns who relished the slog in these wet and heavy conditions. The former Tasmanian would have experienced these conditions quite regularly growing up on the "Apple Isle". - Inside Football Player of the Year.
