Game Review
This was Carlton's 50th League match, and it was a pity that we couldn't celebrate it with a win. In fact, this defeat left us eighth and last on the ladder - the only team yet to win after two rounds. (St.Kilda had drawn with Melbourne but they protested to the VFL and were awarded the four points during the week.)Fitzroy won the toss but decided to kick against the wind. Sullivan scored the Blues' first and only goal. Heavy rain then fell and Sullivan, again, managed to score a behind, being the only scorer in Blue for the first quarter. The Blues only managed a few extra behinds for the remainder of the match.
The club's 51st League match would actually take place in Round 4, after the round 3 fixture was cancelled due to severe weather conditions. As a result, round 3 was actually played after round 14. Please click here to find out more.
At the end of this round Carlton were in 8th spot on the ladder with a percentage of 40.6.
