Game Review

The Carlton team wore black armbands and flags were flown at half mast as a mark of respect for the late Mr. A. Taylor, a vice president, who died during the week.

Perhaps it was a sign of things to come, but Carlton sat in last spot with a percentage of 50.9% after this loss to the Same Old. Only two teams remained winless; the newly introduced team from Hawthorn, and the once-mighty Blues.

After this game Carlton's captain, Maurie Beasy and playing coach Paddy O'Brien both resigned their positions. Maurie was still living in Dunolly, and wasn't arriving home by train until lunchtime on Mondays, according to his son Doug Beasy.

At the end of this round Carlton were in 12th spot on the ladder with a percentage of 50.9.
