Little is known of this gentleman.
Nephew of David Methven a councillor of Brunswick. (R of Ad)
David Methven was a long time Brunswick councillor and he had a brother, Alexander Methven.
Alexander Methven born Carnbee, Fife, Scotland, 12 December 1828 and ran the Rising Sun Hotel in Carlton.
However Alexander died in August 1904. (Ref: R of Ad) (Coburg Leader 13 August p1 1904)
David and Alexander had a brother William who drowned in 1880. (Age Feb 06 p2)

Married Edith Cohen in 1887. (R of Ad)

At the Carlton Annual General Meeting held at Temperance Hall Russel Street, A. Methven was among 10 others who were elected as Vice Presidents.

A. Methven was also on the ground committee in 1908


A. Methven was elected as a vice president of the Carlton Juniors Football Club. (Argus 28 March 1908 p15)
The Carlton Juniors along with Carlton District were Carlton's reserves teams.

1916 There was an Mr. A. Methven living at "Mt.Pleasant" Wilson Street, Princes Hill (Argus September 23 p16)
