Game Review
The joy of the previous week's victory over South Melbourne lasted only up until half-time in this match against Melbourne at the MCG. Thanks mainly to their elusive full-forward Charlie Young, the Fuchsias piled on 4.5 in the third term while keeping Carlton scoreless, and ran out winners almost ten goals.Carlton's first VFL captain, Jimmy Aitken played his last game for the Blues this day, and added insult to humiliation by leaving the club and joining Melbourne shortly afterward. The reason why Jimmy left us was not explained, and his loss was a big blow to our finals chances. See Footnote Round, 5
At the end of this round Carlton were in 5th spot on the ladder with a percentage of 64.6.
