Game Review
After an even first term, the Blues piled on six goals to one in the second quarter. From then on Carlton kept the Demons at bay, and ran out easy winners. The margin boosted Carlton's percentage, and lifted us to third on the ladder behind Geelong and North Melbourne.The Blues' centre line of Laurie Kerr, Keith Warburton, and Max Thomas dominated the match.
"Carlton's forwards led intelligently, and made good use of short passing, combined with good backing-up and handball." Ruckmen Jack Howell and Ken Hands with rover Jack Mills constantly beat their opponents and provided the Blues with many opportunities. "Brilliant Carlton centreman Keith Warburton, with his spectactular marking and accurate passing, initiated most of his team's scoring moves. He was best afield against Melbourne."
