Rewarded with a place in the senior side after a long apprenticeship with the Under 19's and Reserves, Adam Inglis kicked five goals as the Blues lost at home to Richmond by 24 points. Utility Don Calder also scored his only career goal in this game.In a round of upsets, Carlton actually climbed the ladder to sixth – despite two losses in three games. When Essendon and Geelong were both beaten, the new top four became Collingwood, Fitzroy, Footscray and Richmond. Keith Warburton dropped to fourth on the goal-kicking table with 11 majors, after Jack O’Rourke kicked 6 for the Tigers to take his total to 17 at the top.
Monday's Argus said Warburton scored 1.7 from 10 shots at goal.
