Game Review
Carlton controlled this match from the first bounce on a fine autumn day at Princes Park. 'Turkey' Tom Carroll kicked 5 majors to head the VFL goal-kicking list, and the Blues sat in sixth - out of the four only on percentage.Bob Crowe gave Carlton one of his best games since joining them in 1954. He was impassable in defence. His marking and kicking was a treat to watch. John James was another good defender. Tom Carroll kicked five goals, while Leo Brereton (three goals) and Peter Falconer (two goals), were clever rovers and forwards. - Football Record.
