His younger brother Matt Rosa plays for the West Coast Eagles and was an emergency in their 2006 premiership victory.
Rosa would front up with VFL team Bendigo who is aligned with Essendon for the 2003 season, he would eventually captain the Bendigo Bombers.
Rosa headed off in 2008 to play with WAFL club Peel Thunder, he stayed there for two seasons and was runner-up in their best and fairest in 2009. Rosa would head back to Bendigo and play for the powerful Golden Square FC where he would play in a couple of premierships for the 'Bulldogs' that included a best and fairest win in 2011.
Rosa has his own successful lanscaping business in Bendigo.
He didn't play a senior game for Carlton.
Note: At the end of the 2013 season the Bendigo Pioneers Football Club named it best team of 21 years, the team included three players (Andrew Walker, Luke Livingston and Damien Lock who had played senior football with Carlton and another three players Steven Reaper, Simon Rosa and Michael Braun) who had a run with the Carlton reserves team (the latter player was to become a premiership player with the West Coast Eagles). The team was compiled with the help of former and present Bendigo Pioneer coaches that included two former Carlton players Brian Walsh and Tony Southcombe.
