Game Review
Carlton were missing a host of quality players and short on talent and experience.
Scott Camporeale was his usual busy self and
Jim Plunkett and
Justin Murphy were solid in support but the Blues did not have enough players capable of stamping their authority on the game.
Matthew Lappin,
Ian Prendergast and
Brendan Fevola were useful up forward with 2 goals each.

Game Review
Geelong had the better of an inaccurate Carlton in the first half. The Blues kicked the first 4 goals of the third quarter however to take the lead. It was then goal for goal, the scores level in time on until 2 late goals sealed victory for Carlton.
Brendan Fevola kicked 4 goals,
Andrew Merrington kicked 3 and took some good marks, while the opportunistic
Ryan Houlihan kicked 2.
Brett Ratten, captaining the Blues for the first time, had 25 possessions and was well supported by
Darren Hulme.
