In late August 2005 a new Carlton player was discovered that played way back in 1902.

The original history data for Arthur Ryan had him playing 6 games for 3 goals between 1902 and 1904. (Breakdown was 1 game 1902, 1 game 1903 and 4 games in 1904). It was later discovered that it was in fact two players with Arthur Ryan only playing in 1904 (4 games & no goals) and the new player was Chris Ryan who played two games in 1902 and 1903 for three goals. Christopher Daniel Ryan was born 3/11/79 at Kilmore and died 2/5/73 at Brighton aged 93.

Jack Worrall began coaching the first eleven on October 3, 1902 at Xavier and the school's paper "The Xaverian" said for 1902 on May 24th - Our ex-House Captain C. Ryan played for Carlton and kicked a goal and on June 1st - He received quite a flattering report in the "Australian" as a ruckman.
