Game Review
Although Carlton went into this away game against South Melbourne in the midst of a deep slump, our victory over the Bloods earier in the year was some encouragement. However, after an even first half, the Southerners got right on top, kicking five goals to nil in the last quarter to win by 50 points. The only minor consolation for the Blues was that over at the MCG on that same Saturday afternoon, Melbourne beat Collingwood by 1 point and knocked the Magpies off the top of the ladder. And although Carlton was enduring a horror season, St Kilda's was worse. The Saints were still a dismal last - winless, and with a percentage of just 34.17.
