Drawn to play the top side Geelong in the first of the Sectionals, Carlton hardly gave a yelp and went down by five goals. Had the Pivotonians kicked straight, it might have been much uglier.At the end of this round Carlton were in 7th spot on the ladder with a percentage of 47.9.
