"A meeting was held in Melbourne on Saturday evening in connection with a tour of Australian footballers being promoted by the old St.Kilda captain, Mr. J. Smith. Mr. S. Bloom presided, and the proposal was keenly advocated by Messrs. C. Hickey (Australian Football Council) A. Willis, D. McNamara (St.Kilda), J. A. Dennis (Williamstown, T. Fogarty, R. Rush (Collingwood), J. Wright (Carlton), C. Hardy (North Melbourne), J. McHale (Collingwood), P. Shea (Essendon), A. J. Curran and others.
