Parents, William and Margaret and their six children migrated to Melbourne April 22 1855.
William (senior) started a real estate business in Carlton in 1859. The real estate firm established in 1859 by William Snr still survives today (now known as Kelly&Shiel) and is located just a short walk from the William Ievers drinking fountain in Argyle Square in Carlton.
1865 April 29
W. Ievers is entered in the 1 mile handicap flat race, running off 50 yards at the Amateur Athletics Sports Day at the Warehousemen's Oval Ground, St.Kilda Park.
He also entered the 80 yard sack race.
Worked in the warehouse of William Watson & Son becoming head of the department.
William Ievers jnr. was elected to the Melbourne City Council in 1881, and served to 1894, he also represented the Council on the M.M.B.W.
Joined the family real estate business in 1890, which at the time was one of Melbourne's biggest.
Ievers stood for the Victorian Parliament and was elected to the Legislative Assembly, 1892-1895.
He was a member of the Melbourne Shakespeare Company and supported the arts, charities, and was a Justice of the Peace.
William Ievers jnr. was involved in a rowing accident and died suddenly on February 19 1895.
After a mass at St.Georges Carlton, he was buried at the Melbourne General Cemetery on February 21.
His funeral procession included members of the Carlton Football Club.
William Ievers was Vice President of the club who died in office.

The Corowa Free Press (p6) carries a report from Melbourne which includes stories about two Carlton identities, former captain Jack/John Gardiner and vice president William Ievers.
