1912 Reserves

Metropolitan Amateur Football Association

This season the word Amateur was added to the name of the association. This move was to reinforce the strictly amateur stature of the competition against the rising tide of professionalism.
Although not afflilated with the VFL the two bodies are on friendly terms. Players will have to be aware of the rules governing amateurism.
Any renumeration whatsoever from a senior club, will debar that player from the M.A.F.A.

Clubs; Beverley, Carlton District, Caulfield, Collegians, Collingwood District, Fitzroy Juniors, Hawthorn City, Leopold, South Yarra, University

Oakleigh has dropped out of the M.A.F.A.
Fitzroy Juniors premiers of the V.J.F.A. last season, have joined the M.A.F.A.
Hawthorn City (A) is a reformed Hawthorn. This is the A team, Hawthorn City B plays in the Melbourne District competition.
