Recruited from South Melbourne in 1883.

A leading player in the 1883 season.

J. Camerons named among the best in their position as a back in 1885 season.

J. Cameron crossed from Carlton to the newly formed Fitzroy and played with them from 1884-85 The Fitzroy web site says J. "Ducky" Cameron "Described as Fitzroy's greatest player in their innaugural season."

1884 The Weekly Times March 15, reporting on Fitzroy's AGM said;
"T. Cameron, late of the Carlton club, was elected vice-captain."

1885 To confuse matters a John Cameron joined the club.

1886 J. Cameron transferred to Footscray. (OAF Vol3 p147)

Jack Worrall, writing in the Australasian June 02 1932 (p49), about the forth coming match between Carlton and Fitzroy mentions former Carlton players 'Abe' Shearwood, Jack Elliott, and the Cameron brothers who "helped Fitzroy in it's first year of existence."
