Game Review
Carlton shot to the lead with the first three goals of the last quarter, culminating in a glorious on the run goal by Trevor Keogh. But an equally good snap-shot from Kevin Sheedy inspired Richmond, and they steamrolled the Blues in the last 15 minutes to win by 20 points.Carlton showed improved form when they fought back doggedly against the highly rated Tigers and grabbed a slender lead in the last quarter. But with their veterans - Bourke, Sheedy and Hart outstanding, Richmond ran out 20 points winners to kick their highest score against the Blues since that memorable 1972 Grand Final. Richmond now look to be certain finalists with their overall blending of youth, experience and skill. - Football Record.
