Game Review

Despite a slow start, the Blues crunched the Demons at home by 53 points. Both the 8 goal second quarter and a 9 goal last quarter raised the roof at Princes Park and the atmosphere was at fever pitch.

Spiro Kourkoumelis kicked a goal with his first kick in league footy after receiving a handball over the top from Ken Sheldon in front of the Heatley Stand.

This would also be the final game for ex Carlton premiership player Phil Pinnell who had transferred to the Demons two seasons earlier.
